The digital job market and virtual work environments are currently flourishing at a global level. They have great potential in offering new job opportunities for young entrepreneurs who possess the needed digital skills of today.
Digital Avenue, is an innovative economic development project, funded by the US Department of State (DOS) and implemented by Leaders International in Jordan. It aims at engaging Jordanian talent with an untapped global digital market by enhancing freelancers’ business skills, connecting them to form teams, 10 of which will register as agencies, and linking them with the international digiwork market.
The project will not only enhance entrepreneurial skills for digital work, but will also facilitate the access of Jordanian digital workers to global digital opportunities. About 500 Jordanians will be enrolled in an advanced training programme, some of whom will be selectively chosen to receive mentorship and business development support online to pursue their digital career. Their expertise will also be promoted through a dedicated freelance marketplace and connected with employers from around the world. The project seeks to promote and foster the digiwork culture in Jordan, and ultimately, extend Jordanian freelancers’ reach to a global level.
